The taste of almonds is delicate and nice, you need to add just a little bit of something sweet into almond milk to make the taste flirt with you. A few drops of maple syrup or honey with cinnamon will reveal all the nutty almondness of it, this ideal combination makes my day.
How to make almond milk
- 1 cup of raw almonds
- 4 cups of drinking water
- Clean 1 cup of raw almonds and leave to soak overnight. On the next day clean nuts one more time and drain, put them into a blender and pour clean drinking water in. I usually add about 4 glasses of water, so the taste is more deep. You can add more water and get more milk, but the taste will be not so nutty.
- Blend nuts with water about 1-2 minutes in a powerful blender and strain through cheesecloth or a fine sieve.
- To make the taste complete add any sweetener: syrup, honey, fruit, a date (you can blend it with almonds), spices or even cocoa. Almond milk is a great base for delicious healthy drinks or desserts.
